Burch Livestock, operated by Kolby, Micky and Miles Burch, is a progressive 320-head show sheep operation located 15 minutes north of I-80 at Seward, Neb., Exit 379. Show sheep is all we do; we’re in with both feet and are fully committed to raising the very best.
Kolby taught high school ag and coached collegiate livestock judging teams for 12 years; Micky was an agricultural journalist. Both now raise sheep full time and work hard to produce some of the best show sheep and breeding stock in the country.
They both whole-heartedly believe in the merit and value of raising children with livestock. On Dec. 18, 2014, they welcomed Miles Wilson Burch to their family and enjoy raising him in production agriculture.
Kids are more likely to grow into adults with desired skills and character traits after years of learning the rewards of hard work and responsibility. Kolby has the opportunity to judge several shows annually and says, “You know the youth livestock program is doing a good job shaping young people based on the number of handshakes and ‘thank you, sirs’ I receive during and after every show I judge.” They both love working with motivated young people and other breeders with a similar vision and would love to work with you.
